Why Lassi?

Lassi (pronounced LAH-see) is fresh yogurt blended with room temperature water. Yogurt by itself can clog the channels of the digestive and elimination systems, but once it is transformed into Lassi, it actually aids digestion. Thinning yogurt with water and blending it changes the molecular structure so it is more easily assimilated. You can drink either Sweet Lassi or Digestive Lassi before or with lunch.

Sweet Lassi

Ingredients:

1 part fresh, plain yogurt

3 parts water

pinch of ground cardamom

cane sugar to taste

1-2 drops rose water

Digestive Lassi

Ingredients:

1 part fresh, plain yogurt

3 parts water

pinch of ground ginger

pinch of cumin

pinch of pepper

pinch of salt

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in blender

Blend at high-speed for 2 minutes

Helpful Tip:

For best results, use fresh yogurt. Serve Lassi at room temperature.
