Hi Dr. Chaudhary,
I’ve started making the tea and am using the Triphala capsules so I was wondering how many weeks or months is typical until I start seeing results? I eat “clean” and exercise 3-4 times a week already but wasn’t seeing results so I’m happy to add these items to my daily life. Thanks for sharing!
Louise
You are ideal candidate for this program because you only have that resistant fat left to work on. Use the products for at least 3 months to get the full results, but all of the recommendations that I gave can be used lifelong to keep the excess weight from returning. That is what I am doing. Dr. KC

Dr. Chaudhary – I read articles regarding the side effects of Triphala and I was concerned. How much should we be concerned?
Are all the powders the same? Organic or not?
Thanks
Neeta
Triphala is one of the safest herbs out there but I always recommend organic. The powders are always the most potent forms however the triphala is not an easy one to take. I recommend starting with the tablets first.
Dr. Chaudhary,
I purchased triphala capsules from Whole Foods and wanted to know how many mg I should take, the brand I bought says each capsule is 250mg. On the Dr. OZ show it said 2 capsules one hour before bed but how many mg?
Thanks you
Parissa
You want to take 1 mg so 4 capsules will be sufficient.
Hello Dr. Chaudhary,
I was looking for 1 mg capsules of triphala online. but I did not find any.
Can you please tell me what it the maximum amount (in mgs) I can take in a day.
Thanks
Deepti
It comes in 500mg or 1,000mg and I typically recommend 1,000mg a day but if you start slower at 500mg a day.
Thank you
i bought triphala powder how should take it? and can i take it together with neem leaves powder and safed musli powder and ghokru podwer on same day ? or do i have to take them separately each on its own day ?
can I use juice with the psyllium fiber and flax seed instead of water?
The most important thing is warm not cold or cool but you can try although water works best.
Hi Dr Chaudhary, I was wondering if you have any thing to help with Thyroid. I live in Australia, I saw you on Dr Oz. I’m very much appreciated for you help on this.
Thank you very Dr Chaudhary .
The best thing to do is schedule a consultation or seek an Ayurvedic practitioner.
Do you where I can find Ayurvedic practitioner here in Australia.
I have Ulcerative Colitis (on remission) , and I would like to try Triphala. I am concerned about the side effects of diarrhea. Do you think that I should use this supplement with my condition?
My Daughter in law has ulcerative colitis. She is taking 2 6mp pills a day, & is getting ramicade infusions still not in remission. Can triphala help her condition?
Triphala is a great herb for ulcerative colitis. As long as long as your daughter is not having diahrea or a lot of loose stools it will benefit.

I would just like to know if I can take Triphala? I am a heart patient w/3 stents. I take plavix, crestor, aspirin, & synthroid.
I would also like to know if I can drink the Tea’s. Do you know anything about Garcinia Cambogia? Being that I am a heart patient its hard for me to know what I can actually take.
Thanks!!
It is too difficult to give you medical recommendations over the website. I suggest you speak with a local Ayurvedic practitioner or your cardiologist to get the appropriate answer. Good luck
I suggest you see your cardiologist or a local Ayurvedic practitioner, we can’t give this sort of advice online. Best of luck..
Thanks for the information! I just though that you being on the Dr. Oz & him being a cardiologists,, it would be safe.
Hi,
I am worried about my body becoming dependent on the triphala capsules to have bowel movements. I have heard that if you take supplements to help promote bowel movements that eventually your colon will become dependent and not be able to function without the pills and will need to keep using more powerful supplements.
Triphala supports your digestive system and helps to restore it to it’s natural state. It won’t hinder digestion; it’s the same as eating food, not like an unnatural supplement.
By “psyllium fiber,” do you mean the ground seeds or the ground husks? Thanks!
Excellent question, this refers to the ground husks.
Hi, I have PCOS and have gained 60lbs in 8 months, I’ve been taking triphala powder for about 2 months 2x/day & haven’t seen any results along with diet & exercise. I’ve haven’t lost a pound. I cant afford to see a specialist. I just started the fat loss tea 3wks ago, is there anything else that will help me lose his horrible weight. .I read about gugulu but couldnt find anything on the succes. My dosha is Kapha. My upper body is 2x larger than my lower body. Thank you, I really appreciate it.
Hello,
This is a difficult situation and may be too complex without an actual consultation with an Ayurvedic practitioner. The answer as to how long it will take to see results is that it depends. The more ama (toxins) a person has collected in their physiology, the longer it take for the Triphala and tea to work. The other thing you may want to do is a 21 day juice cleanse. This should be done under the advise/ supervision of your doctor.
thank you very much I appreciate you responding
Hello dr chaudhary,
I have acidity problems and acid reflux. I would like to take triphala churna but I was wondering when is the best time to take it? before or after dinner? And is the brand patanjali triphala churna safe to take?
Thanks
In general Triphala should be taken on an empty stomach. Try taking it before bedtime as well as 30 min before eating breakfast. I am unfamiliar with the Patanjali brand. The Triphala we use is Digest Tone and is on our website.
I was wondering do you use the homemade curry powder on every meal of the day and how much?
It depends on how much you like the flavor of Indian food. However, having at least one meal a day with the curry spice is a good place to start.
Very good post. I’m dealing with some of these issues
as well..
Is it ok to take Neem and triphala capsules together?
It is ok. However, Neem is traditionally taken during the daytime and Triphala is usually taken before bedtime. These are just general rules of thumb, and there are exceptions.
i am currently taking the Triphala and drinking the tea for weight loss. several months ago i was taking a weight loss supplement which made me really ill. then i was told since i don’t have a gall bladder, i was to be taking digestive enzymes while taking the supplement. will taking the Triphala still work if i don’t have a gall bladder?
Yes, Triphala should still work if you don’t have a gall bladder. In fact, it should improve digestion in your case.
thank you for the reply. appreciate it.
Hi Dr. Chaudhary, I’ve been using Triphala lately cause my dad gave it to me and he said it’s very effective in alleviates digestive problems and help enhance your overall digestive health. Is it true?
Yes, many people find that Triphala helps to improve overall digestive health when used with a healthy balanced diet that is appropriate for you.

I have congestive heart failure. I am on meds for that: bumex, lisinopril, spironolactone, metoprolol, baby asprin. Any conflicts or contra indications with these and triphala powder as tea 2x daily? When I mentioned Ayuvedic herbal routes to my cardiologist, he just threw up his hands, very uninformed and preferred the pharmaceutical route for management rather than healing. Any advice on this?
